OFURÒ is inspired by the private Japanese bath which serves in particular to relax and recuperate from daily routine. OFURÒ allows a bather to soak up to the throat in warm water, as Japanese bathing culture and wisdom has illuminated throughout the ages. The larch wood of this comfortable tub was dried in several worksteps and formed and brought together in a special procedure. The clean design is pared down to the essentials, which harmoniously emerge from within the inherent wood grain. OFURÒ is organic, aesthetic, sustainable and comfortable: totally custom fit. The basin continues to win numerous prizes upon its introduction in late 2009, including the GOOD DESIGN and WALLPAPER DESIGN awards.
According to designer Matteo Thun, “OFURÒ is a mirror of what we call ‘No-Design’ and is one we enjoying creating exclusively with RAPSEL.” More info at matteothun.com or rapsel.it
